§ 14-28. Administration.

  • (a)

    Cemetery committee. A committee of the City Council shall be appointed by the mayor to oversee and recommend policy concerning the city's cemetery.

    (b)

    Superintendent. The superintendent is responsible for the overall operation of the cemetery, for enforcement of city ordinances applicable to the cemetery and for the management and care of the cemetery.

    (c)

    Sexton. The sexton is responsible for day to day operations of the cemetery, including but not limited to lot sales, grave opening and closing, enforcement of rules and regulations, contact with funeral directors, installation of monument or marker foundations, cemetery maintenance and relations with the public.
