§ 3.6. Planning and zoning:

The City shall maintain a City Planning Commission in accordance with, and have all powers and duties granted by, the provisions of the statute relating to such commissions. The Council shall maintain a Zoning Ordinance in accordance with the provisions of statutes relating to such ordinances. Insofar as may be, such ordinance shall provide that zoning be coordinated with the work of the City Planning Commission.
