§ 10.7. Fire Department:

The Fire Department shall be responsible for the prevention and extinguishing of fires and the protection of persons and property against damage and accident resulting therefrom. The Fire Department shall be under the direction of the Fire Chief. The Fire Chief shall be appointed by the Mayor with the approval by the Council. The Fire Chief shall be responsible for the use, care, and management of the City's fire fighting apparatus and property. The Chief shall conduct supervisory and educational programs to diminish the risk of fires within the City. The Fire Chief shall perform other duties as the Council may direct or which may be required by law.
