§ 66-32. Unsecured vessels.

  • Whenever there shall be in the harbor any vessel, craft or float insecurely fastened, adrift, sunken or laid up or whenever there shall be any vessel, craft or float fastened, moored, tied or beached along the shoreline without the consent of the owner or lessee of such shoreline or dock at which any such craft, vessel or float is moored or beached, the harbormaster shall notify the owner, master or other person who may be in charge thereof, and he shall secure, raise or remove such vessel, craft or float without delay. If the harbormaster is unable to find the master, owner or person in charge thereof or if from examination of the vessel, craft or float itself ownership cannot be determined, such notice shall not be required, and the harbormaster may remove or cause to be removed such vessel, and such vessel shall be held for expenses and costs.
