§ 62-133. Service rates outside city.

  • (a)

    Commencing with the January 1, 2016, bill, the rate for water furnished outside the corporate limits of the city and not otherwise provided for in an intergovernmental agreement shall be $3.24 per 100 cubic feet used in each quarter. Commencing with the January 1, 2017, bill, the rate for water furnished outside the corporate limits of the city and not otherwise provided for in an intergovernmental agreement shall be $3.45 per 100 cubic feet used in each quarter. Commencing with the January 1, 2018, bill, the rate for water furnished outside the corporate limits of the city and not otherwise provided for in an intergovernmental agreement shall be $3.67 per 100 cubic feet used in each quarter.

    (b)

    Commencing with the January 1, 2016, bill, the rate for water furnished to the Charter Township of Pere Marquette shall be those established pursuant to the Wholesale Water and Sewer Agreement dated March 10, 2015, and pursuant to Addendum I to Wholesale Water and Sewer Agreement dated March 10, 2015.

    (c)

    Commencing with the January 1, 2016, bill, the rate for water furnished to the City of Scottville pursuant to the Wholesale Water Supply Agreement dated August 24, 2015, shall be $1.51 per 100 cubic feet used in each quarter. Commencing with the January 1, 2017, bill, the rate for water furnished to the City of Scottville pursuant to the Wholesale Water Supply Agreement dated August 24, 2015, shall be $1.61 per 100 cubic feet used in each quarter. Commencing with the January 1, 2018, bill, the rate for water furnished to the City of Scottville pursuant to the Wholesale Water Supply Agreement dated August 24, 2015, shall be $1.71 per 100 cubic feet used in each quarter.

    (d)

    Commencing January 1, 2019, and for each calendar year thereafter, the rates called for in section 62-132 and the rates called for in this section, except the rates in subsection (b), shall be the prior year's rate multiplied by 1.03, unless the city council, not later than the first day of December preceding an increase in rates under this section, shall adopt a resolution establishing a different rate for the ensuing calendar year. Not later than the first day of November preceding an increase in rates under this section, the city manager will advise city council of the rates for the ensuing year. The city clerk shall post and maintain on the city website and at the city hall, the current rates for water services as determined in accordance with this section.
