§ 22-40. Orders and powers at fire.

  • No person or bystander at a fire shall neglect or refuse to obey any lawful command of any officer of the fire department or that of any police officer, including but not limited to a lawful order to assist, to vacate any building or structure, to vacate any area adjacent to a fire, or to remove any vehicle or personalty from the area of a fire. No person shall ride or drive any vehicle upon or across any hose used by the fire department in any street, lane, alley or other place in the city. No person, not a member of the fire department, shall intrude upon, ride or get upon any fire truck, hose cart, ladder or other fire apparatus going to, at or coming from a fire unless called upon by the person in command for volunteer service at such fire.
